Something to Think About 💭

Abraham—the patriarch, the father of faith—his story is inspiring to me.

Not because he was perfect…

but because he kept believing God even after failure.

As much as Abraham believed…

he also had moments where fear, pressure, and weakness affected his decisions.

More than once he lied about Sarah being his wife because he was afraid for his life.

— Genesis 12:10–20

— Genesis 20:1–13

He also agreed to sleep with Sarah’s handmaid, Hagar, trying to help bring about what God had already promised.

— Genesis 16:1–4

These weren’t small matters.

They carried consequences.

But I’m not bringing these things up to vilify Abraham.

I’m encouraged by them.

Because despite his failures…

God didn’t throw him away.

Abraham kept getting up.

He kept believing.

He kept walking with God.

And that encourages me in light of the times when I caved…

times when I dropped the ball…

missed opportunities…

and even disqualified myself from things I cannot recover.

Yet even with that reality…

I still have a responsibility.

A responsibility to live holy.

A responsibility to govern myself in alignment with God’s will and purpose for my life.

Failure does not give us permission to give up.

It’s a warning…

but it can also become a teacher.

Scripture speaks about:

- Faith being shipwrecked

- Frustrating grace

- Grieving the Holy Spirit

These are not just ideas—they are warnings.

— 1 Timothy 1:19

— Galatians 2:21

— Ephesians 4:30

And sometimes, if we’re honest…

We allow the enemy access—

not simply because of what we did…

but because of what we refuse to release.

We hold on to the past.

And the past has a place…

but it was never meant to control us.

The past is like a rearview mirror.

You don’t stare at it constantly…

but you check it for alignment.

Because how you move forward

is not just about you—

it also affects the people around you.

So yes, I may have failed.

Yes, I may have missed it.

But I’m not staying there.

I’m moving forward—

with responsibility,

with awareness,

and with alignment to God’s will.

The encouragement is this:

Never give up.

Never give in.

Keep the faith in God.

Because failure does not have to define you…

if you’re willing to keep walking with Him
